About Mobility City

Mobility City is the Nation's Only Mobility Equipment Service Franchise Mobility City is the only national brand focused exclusively on mobility equipment repair, rental, and sales. Seniors, veterans, caregivers, and people with disabilities rely on their wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and lift chairs for five to eighteen hours a day. When equipment breaks, they cannot wait. They need fast, compassionate, reliable service. The Mobility City model fills that gap with an essential, recession-resistant business built on seven diversified revenue streams. Franchisees receive daily repair requests, recurring rental income, and high-ticket sales, supported by national contracts, hospital partnerships, and our VA FSS Award. The industry is protected by MAP pricing, meaning brick-and-mortar franchise owners compete on service, not on price, and earn healthy, consistent margins. Most equipment is Class II medical devices, typically tariff free, often sales-tax exempt, and 100 percent deductible with a doctor's prescription. Our proven model combines a showroom that builds credibility and trust with a fleet of mobile service vans that bring white-glove repairs straight to the home. Everything about the system is designed to be turnkey, scalable, and impactful in every community. How Our Mission Was Born The Mobility City story is rooted in a real healthcare crisis that exposed a nationwide problem. Years ago, Diane Baratta, our CEO and Co-Founder, relied on a mobility scooter for her late husband's daily care. One afternoon, on the way home from dialysis, his scooter failed in the middle of a Florida downpour. Desperate for help, Diane called manufacturers, dealers, and repair shops. Nobody answered. Nobody came. The only options were costly and slow, and none were designed for urgent repair. That's when she found Vinny Baratta. Vinny had already spent decades in the home medical equipment industry, and he understood the everyday challenges mobility users face. He personally repaired the scooter at Diane's home, fast and affordable, restoring both safety and dignity. The experience stuck with both of them. Years later, after Diane's husband passed, she and Vinny reconnected. The conversation quickly turned into a bigger vision: if one family struggled this much to find help, millions of people must be experiencing the same thing. Together, they saw an opportunity to build something the industry had never seen, a national mobility service brand that blends compassion, professionalism, and world-class operations. With Vinny's forty-plus years of industry expertise and Diane's personal mission to create a better system for families in need, Mobility City was born. How the Model Was Proven With no large competitors and no standardized service model in the mobility space, the founders realized they were entering a true blue-ocean category. In communities everywhere, seniors and veterans had nobody to call for fast repairs. Hospitals needed reliable partners to deliver, sanitize, and service equipment. Families needed trustworthy support without navigating Medicare paperwork or insurance confusion. Vinny and Diane built the first Mobility City showroom in Boca Raton and proved the model could scale. Within the first nineteen months, they awarded eighteen franchises in fourteen states. By focusing on service first, not insurance reimbursement, the model became simple, profitable, and consistent. Repairs drove high-margin revenue. Rentals created predictable recurring income. Sales and white-glove delivery layered on top, creating a unique, diversified business that could thrive in any market. Today, Mobility City has expanded to nearly one hundred awarded territories with over one million residents per market to ensure growth potential. Franchisees support seniors, veterans, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, home care providers, and families in every community. The mission remains the same: deliver independence, dignity, and reliability to everyone who depends on mobility equipment. The Mobility City Cost Advantage Mobility City's hybrid model combines a small showroom footprint with mobile service vans that complete repairs in homes and facilities. Inventory is simple, storage is limited, and staffing is lean with only a handful of employees. MAP pricing, national vendor relationships, and Class II medical device status protect franchise margins. The model produces strong early cash flow and enables owners to scale quickly by adding vans and technicians inside their protected million-person territory. Who We Serve Anyone who depends on mobility equipment for safety, independence, or daily living. Our customer base includes: • Seniors aging in place
